Our Mission

Footlights inspires Hartford teens to excel and discover their talents through the arts in a safe and fun environment.

Our History

Footlights, Inc. opened on March 18, 2004. This multicultural and multidisciplinary performing arts center is a non-profit organization that offers a free, after-school program to Hartford youth.

Our participants, ages 12 through 17, are offered classes each day taught by diverse and dedicated professionals. Our experienced and educated instructors undergo extensive screening prior to teaching at Footlights. In addition to our permanent staff, several guest artists visit Footlights throughout the year to share their time and talent through workshops.

A unique component of our program is the Homework Room, where participants have access to volunteer tutors and donated computers. Participants are encouraged to maintain their studies and explore higher education and performance opportunities.
